Town Facts

Town of Lomira, Dodge County, Wisconsin

The Town of Lomira is located in the far northeast corner of Dodge County bordered on the north and east by Fond du Lac County. The villages of Lomira and Brownsville are within its borders.  According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.4 square miles (89.0 km2), all of it land and a population of 1,099 (2020 Census).  The Town maintains 36.1 mi. of rural highways.

The Town Hall/Garage is located near the unincorporated village of Knowles on County Road AY. Town board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.

Second Installment real estate taxes due July 31st

The second installment of real estate taxes are due July 31st to the Dodge County Treasurer's office at 127 East Oak Street, Juneau, WI 53039. Checks should be made payable to Dodge County Treasurer.  To avoid interest and penalties, please allow at least one week before the deadline if mailing your payment. 

A copy of your tax bill can be found on the Dodge County Land Information webpage 
https://list.co.dodge.wi.us/GCSWebPortal/Search.aspx. 
The easiest way is to search by name or property address.  Once the record is located, click on the Taxes tab at the top and there is an option to print your tax bill about halfway down the page.

State Road 49 Road Project

Construction will take place in 2029 to improve State Rd 49 from Hwy I-41 to Center Drive.

Reasons for Project:
The roadway is aged and deteriorated with cracking. Replacing the pavement will improve ride quality.

Improvements Include:
Replace the pavement
Widen the paved shoulder between Center Drive and WIS 175
Install rumble strips on the paved shoulder between Center Drive and WIS 175
Replace the curb and gutter at Center Drive and STH 175
Replace a culvert on WIS 49 next to the railroad tracks
Replace the side road culverts on Center Drive and Pole Road
Replace the flashing beacons at WIS 175

Rezoning Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Dodge County Land Resources and Parks Committee on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 7:05 P.M. or shortly thereafter on the First Floor (Meeting Rooms 1H and 1I) of the Administration Building, Juneau, Wisconsin on the petition of Guardian Pipeline LLC to rezone land from the A-1 Prime Agricultural Zoning District to the A-2 General Agricultural zoning district to allow for the construction of a natural gas compressor station. The property is located in part of the SW¼ of the SE¼ Section 04, Town of Lomira.

 A copy of the proposed project is available for review in the County Land Resources and Parks Department between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday (920-386-3700). All persons interested are invited to attend and be heard. Written comments may be sent to the Dodge County Land Resources and Parks Department at 127 E Oak Street, Juneau, WI 53039 or by e-mail to [email protected] no later than 08/21/26.

Some or all of the Lomira Town Board may attend this meeting and act in their official capacity.

Variance Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Dodge County Board of Adjustment on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. or shortly thereafter on the First Floor (Meeting Rooms 1H and 1I) of the Dodge County Administration Building, Juneau, Wisconsin on the appeal of BENJAMIN D GIESE for a variance request that was submitted by the applicant to allow a deck to remain that does not meet the highway setbacks for Town roads. Structures are required to be 42' from the Right-of-Way and 75' from the centerline of Town roads. As existing, the project will be 35' from the Right-of-Way of Rolling Drive or 7' within the required setback and 68' from the centerline of Rolling Drive or 7' within the required setback thus prohibited by the Code. This request is a variance to Section 5.1.1 and Table 5.1-1 of the Dodge County Land Use Code.

Property location: LOT 1, CSM 1337, Part of the NE¼ of the SW¼, Section 14, Town of Lomira, the site address being W381 ROLLING DRIVE.

A copy of the proposed petition is available for review in the County Land Resources and Parks Department between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday (920-386- 3700)

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Dodge County Land Resources and Parks Committee on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 7:25 PM or shortly thereafter on the First Floor (Meeting Rooms 1 H and 1I) of the Administration Building, Juneau, Wisconsin on the application of Austin Longo for a Conditional Use Permit under the Land Use Code, Dodge County, Wisconsin to allow for the establishment of an Outdoor Storage Facility located within an A-2 General Agricultural Zoning District.  The property is located in part of the SE ¼ of Section 27, Town of Lomira. 

A copy of the proposed project is available for review in the County Land Resources and Parks Department between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday (920-386-3700).
